Report 2022-2023

Pongal Celebration – Tamil Mantram: On January 13, 2023, Tamil Mantram organized a celebration at 8:30 am with traditional food distribution. A cultural programme at 2:30 pm was held with chief guest Dr. P. Suresh Daniel. About 150 students participated. On January 12, 2023, Kolam, elocution, and essay competitions were held with 50 participants.

Pongal Day Celebration – Ambedkar Nagar: On January 15, 2023, sports events began at 2:30 pm. A formal event followed at 4:30 pm with speeches and prize distribution. The event was coordinated by NCC and Tamil Mantram with around 30 student and 350 local participants.

Imperum Vizha: Held on January 26-28, 2023. Coordinated by Tamil Mantram and Meendezhum Kumari Iyakkam, it featured exhibitions and cultural events. Thousands attended, including Tamil Mantram and NCC students.

Report (2021–2022):

On account of Pongal celebration, Tamil Mantram of the college conducted Elocution, Essay Writing, and Poem Writing on virtual mode on 11/01/2022 and also conducted Kolapotti on 14/01/2022 through virtual mode. The Tamil Mantram celebrated Tamilar Thirunaal Pongal on 13th January 2022 at 10 AM through virtual mode. Our correspondent Rev. Dr. M. Maria William headed the celebration. Public speaker and NLP master practitioner Dr. Deepa Azhageshwari was the chief guest. She spoke about how the world admires Tamil culture and the relevance of the Pongal festival.

The Principal felicitated the occasion and spoke about the significance of Tamilar Thirunaal. Our correspondent Rev. Dr. M. Maria William conveyed Pongal wishes to everyone. S. Suha Fathima from I Year ECE B won the first prize for elocution and delivered her speech. Also, J. Jenisha from I Year ECE A won the first prize for poem writing and read her poem on the occasion. Deepika from I Year ECE A delivered the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded around 4:00 PM.

Tamil Mantram of our college conducted elocution and poetry writing on 17/06/2022 on the theme β€œPeople’s Movement for a Clean City.”

Report (2020–2021):

A webinar was organized by Tamil Mantram on 05-11-2020 on the topic β€œRole of Engineers in Social Change.” The resource person was writer Dr. Ahila Krishnamurthy.

Pongal celebration was organized by Tamil Mantram on 13-01-2021 on the topic β€œTamil Culture: Then and Now.” The resource person was Fr. Dr. Wiselin Xavier. On the eve of Pongal celebration in our college, we conducted a Kolam competition on 14th January 2021.
